Online Betting & Gaming Licenses

Online betting and gaming licenses are issued exclusively to companies incorporated in Anjouan. License holders may operate under multiple brand names and domain names, and engage in various forms of online gambling. The use of local nominee directors is permitted if required. A fixed annual license fee applies. Servers may be hosted anywhere globally, and profits may be processed through any bank.

Legal Framework

The Betting and Gaming Act 2005 governs all aspects of online gambling, including internet gaming, sports betting, casino operations, lotteries, and bingo. The Act also established the Gaming Board of Anjouan as the regulatory body.

Company Formation & Licensing Process

Applicants must submit the prescribed application form along with required KYC and due diligence documents to Anjouan Corporate Services Ltd and the Gaming Board of Anjouan. The Gaming Board will evaluate the application and assess the directors and shareholders before granting the license.

KYC & Due Diligence Requirements

(a) For Individuals:
  • Certified copy of passport, driver’s license, or national ID (showing full details and certified by a recognized professional)
  • Proof of residential address (e.g., utility bill or bank statement)
  • Original bank reference
  • Certificate of Morality (affidavit confirming no criminal record)
(b) For Corporates/Partnerships:
  • Certificate of incorporation/registration
  • Certified copy of the memorandum and articles of association, constitution, or equivalent governing document
